Windows 7 mining with dual-core Xeon Processors on an HP Workstation, my efficiency is 1 SFX per 8 hours of mining. The value today for one SFX is $0.17. Therefore, at 450 watts per hour, and using 8 hours to produce 1 SFX, I am using 3.6 KW (450 x 8) = 3,6000. The price per KW here is $0.11. So, it costs me (3.6 x 0.11) = $0.396 to produce one SFX at $0.17.

Windows 10 with an Intel Processor on an HP Laptop, my efficiency is 1 SFX per 22 hours of mining. The Value today for one SFX is $0.17. Therefore, at 250 watts per hour, and using 22 hours to produce 1 SFX, I am using 5.5 KW (250 x 22) = 5,500 watts. The price per KW here is $0.11. So, it costs me (5.500 x $0.11) = $0.605 to produce one SFX at $0.17.

This is a great assessment of mining proficiency of CPUs. I recommend if you are looking to get a better profit, however, this is also assuming the price of SFX is at $0.17 if higher then this math changes, but for now I have found people to get much better performance with the Futurebit Moonlanders 2.

These are cheap, they don't put your PC under stress, and use a 5-10w footprint which is much lower.
